Your Intimacy with God determines the level of obtainable Grace

God is a supreme being who is known to have created the whole universe in 6 days. He is the one who also made man out of the dust of the earth in His own image. And out of everything He created, He made man lord over His handworks and delegated man to have dominion over all. This simply means that God cherishes man so much and having created them and blessed them to fill the earth, He wants them to maintain a strong intimacy with Him and continue the intimacy forever. This was seen in the garden of Eden when God came down to the garden speaking with the likes of Adam and Eve on usual basis. But at the long run, man sinned and for his sin, the strong intimacy between God and man became weakened and curtailed.

Man lost his freedom of intimacy with God and as a result of this, man was associated with labour before getting what to eat, wear, use and even reproduce. It was a tough situation, that left man with no choice than to adapt to that system of living. This tells us that sin deprives a person of his rights and freedom. Sin will not only create havoc, it will even go to the extent of driving you into further destructive acts because it is like a journey having no bus stop.

Your intimacy with God is how you relate with God in the journey of life. Apart from the general relationship which the church share with God, yours is a very important one. Because as God is the God of the Universe, so likewise He is the God of each person. God sojourned with Abraham singly one on one even when Abraham had brothers and friends. And when God was making His covenant with him, He did not include his brothers neither his friends. This simply means that God wants a sole relationship from you. He has where He wants to take you to.

When Christ came to fulfil the prophecy foretold of the prophets, there came this grace of saving and not to kill. Christ came for sinners like you and me. We were all in the dungeon of sin and its reproach, but Christ came to deliver and set us free. This grace He gave to all mankind. And for whosoever believes in this grace shall not perish. Even after His accession into Heaven, this grace was retained for man and every believer. And what have we made out of it? We have misused it to satisfy ourselves and the lustful desires of our heart. (Romans 6:1) says; What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? The answer is a no. Please you need to approve righteousness in your life so that your intimacy with God can remain solid. Through prayer and fasting, you get along with God and through the meditation on the word of God, you get insight.

Keep pressing hard

A little drop of water makes a mighty ocean and Rome was not built in a day. Great people having explicable achievements have walked their way down the isle of success and came out buoyant to boast of what they have. You can’t speak of what you don’t know instead you become a vessel making the most loudest noise everywhere. So likewise you can’t give what you don’t possess or perhaps you are giving out an empty knowledge which is of no use.

The statement “I don’t know it” repeatedly is a cliche of “I can’t know it.” You will only become unfit and embedded with the burden of failure if you refuse to take the bold step that is expected of you this year. Daniel in the Bible took a bold step not to defile himself with the palatable food offered in the palace. And thereafter he surprised the Chief of the King’s eunuchs by taking vegetables with his other three friends Hananaih, Mishael, and Azariah and they were all fatter and appeared healthier than the other servants of the King.

What are your aims this year? What is that goal you yearn so much to achieve? What have you set aside to do specially and get a positive result over? You can only yield a positive result when you remain optimistic that all is well and they will all go fine. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego remained positive even in the face of death that they would not relent on being faithful to the most high God. You need to exercise that strong faith the apostles installed in their acts to keep the gospel at a high level. So therefore no matter what happens you just have to remain strong and keep pressing hard.

In that direction you are facing hoping to get the best from, don’t go back thinking you are in the wrong direction. Follow your instinct that is been led by the Holy Spirit so you can get a quick positive result. Christ acclaim that for those who endures till the end shall be giving the crown of glory. For your goals in this world highly backed up by God, keep pressing hard, and for your primary goal to have eternal life with Christ, keep pressing hard. Christ who strengthens the weak and uphold them will strengthen you this year.

What am I missing?

You go to church regularly, you pray when asked to pray, you sing and dance and as well give offerings when due, you pay your tithe, you refrain yourself from fighting, clubbing, drinking of alcohol, smoking of cigarette, fornicating, and so on but still yet you notice you are missing something.

You notice that when you pray and fast to make your prayers get quick answers, it’s as if you are just wasting your time, because your prayers don’t get answers. You are troubled because you don’t know where you are getting it wrong. So you ask yourself “what am i missing?”

When you carefully observe to make your ways right with God and you are not in good terms with your brother, you are only wasting your efforts in serving God.The Bible says that if any man claims he loves God and does not love his neighbour; he is a liar. For you have not loved your brother whom you have seen, then how would you love God Whom you haven’t seen.

What you are missing is love. Love is a principal thing in the face of God. God so much cherishes the world that he gave us His only begotten son, Christ. And with love, Christ volunteered Himself as a sacrificial lamb for the atonement of man’s sin. If you have all the spiritual gifts in the world and you don’t have love, as Apostle Paul had said, you are just a empty vessel making noise everywhere. You must learn to call ‘love’ back into your heart, because that is the dwelling place for it. The heart needs to feed the mind with messages full of love. And your body needs to listen to your heart.

Whom should I love?

Christ preached love to His followers telling them whom they should love. In His statement, He clarified that showing love to friends is not just the extreme degree of showing love. He taught them to love their enemies and even pray for them. He said this to them explaining how the Father(God) shows love to every mankind by giving His sun to shine on them, and His rain to pour on them. Although it’s not an easy task to face your enemy and begin to show your kind attitude to him/her. It only takes maturity and obedience. You should love your enemies, which is what Christ demands from you. Because by so doing, you are leaving your enemies powerless to be able to hurt you when they gather to put you to shame. Therefore Christ does not teach you to hate your enemies, instead He tells you to feed them when they are hungry, clothe them when they need cloth. Because by doing these, you are heaping coals of fire on them.

A strong determination

It’s a new year and a new beginning to do new things. Last year has passed away and can never return. So it’s a new year where you have to do new things probably a refreshing of your programs. Your programs here means those things that you have set aside your leisure time to do for a great accomplishment of. These are the things you should refresh these new year. Maybe what you did last year, the way you did it, probably you didn’t like it, it didn’t work out well, then this year you have to strategize well. And to do that, you must profess a strong determination in your heart to do them.

Serving God is very much important for every believer, and it is what God demands from us. He wants us to do His will first, and in return, receive His blessings. In the book of Matthew 6:33, Christ tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all other things which are those human wants of ours, which economically they are insatiable will be given to us even in abundance. Philippians 4:19 affirms to us that God shall supply to us all our needs according to His riches in glory. All your needs which simply means those things you lack, promisingly will be provided for you. But the only way to have access to these benefits is by seeking God’s kingdom first and not placing this priority in second place, neither in third place or even at the last place of your seeking.

Dining and living in sin can hinder you as a child of God from experiencing positive change in your life. And when problem arises, you blame God as if He is the one who who has allowed the devil into your life. Have you checked yourself to know your stand with God. You are living in sin and you expect the grace of God to grow abundantly, impossible. Romans 6:1 says we can’t continue to live in sin and expect the grace of God to grow abundantly. It is now left to you to decide if you want God’s premium blessing or not.

Lastly, you must exercise a strong faith in God that He is able to lift you during the time of your challenges. Come what may, you must not betray God. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego portray an exemplary life of faithfulness. They didn’t become compelled by the pressure from the King to bow down to the golden statue he had erected for idolatry. And what was the reward? They changed the heart of the King, leaving him with no option than to issue a command all over his kingdom that the people should respect and should not speak ill of the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego which he termed as the only true God. And they themselves became promoted and respected all over the provinces. This year you need to walk with God with a strong determination in your heart to serve Him and walk in His ways without blemish. By this only can you receive God’s premium grace and blessing.
